The entries of the tri-annual Ludum Dare are anything but “alone,” approaching 800 in number between the 48-hour competition and the 72-hour Jam over this past weekend.
Developers the world over have thrown in their hats for the competition. IndieGames has already featured Jonathan Whiting’s Craequ. Increpare’s Puppy Shelter, Hempuli’s Incomitat, and Notch’s Minicraft are but a few of the games built around the “alone” theme.
The figures seem to be in a state of flux, but as of this writing, 719 are in the main competition and 62 are in the Jam. It’s a good thing judging lasts over 20 days, though I wonder with all the holiday interruptions if a few more days would help ease the tension of playing a ton of titles.
Rest assured, we’ll be highlighting several titles here and providing links of other websites who spot some gems, as well.
