Getting a head start on the upcoming seven-day Roguelike challenge, Jonathan Brodsky of Lucky Frame released his puzzle roguelike The Nightmare Cooperative, which synchronizes up to four players all moving at the same time by your command.
Each character has a special move, limited by the amount of potions possessed. The current build contains 10 levels, of which I managed to die on the last level, where the challenge really seemed ramped up. My favorite moments in the game were rescuing fallen allies and seeing the graphical effects of my abilities, the latter being rather satisfying compared to typical roguelike-nudge fighting.
According to the game’s TIGSource thread, Jonathan says “I suspect I will be making this into more of a full game, with more graphics and progression and on all the devices eventually.”
