Bird Of Passage

Find Solace in Taxi Rides in ‘Bird Of Passage’

Posted on February 13, 2019February 11, 2019 by Jupiter Hadley

Sometimes, you just need someone to listen you your thoughts and qualms – a stranger who doesn’t have any influence on your everyday life.

In Bird Of Passage, taxi drivers are the people you seek, to tell your tale of Tokyo.

You are a creature whose head is a giant eye. One who came from a past version of Tokyo – a dead place full of mystery that no one else is really aware of. Wandering in the night, unable to sleep, you get into various taxis and tell pieces of your story and your past. With nowhere to actually go and no place to call home, getting into taxis to talk is all you really have.

Bird Of Passage

Each taxi driver is different. Some will want to talk, some will want silence, and others will give you great advice depending on what you tell them. It’s up to you to drive the conversation in whatever way you want. Through various dialogue options, you can reveal little bits about yourself before wanting the taxi driver to pull over. Once you have exited the car, you tend to wait at the stop, looking around, before the next taxi driver picks you up.

Bird Of Passage has a beautiful atmosphere – neon lights, the light rain on the ground as you wait, and some beautiful images of the taxi and its light moving down the road. The story itself provides a mysterious, yet strangely relaxing bit of backstory for you to focus on for the ride.
