Drawing inspiration from the neon-heavy VHS-era cyberpunk and classic JRPGs , Jack Move takes the best of these worlds and strikes out a new path with an all-new story of murder, conspiracy, and fighting software.
You will follow Noa, a renowned hacker, who is looking for her missing father. It’s a task that will have you searching in the darkest corners of the city and uncovering much more than you bargained for. In a world where some Corporations hold all the power and the masses suffer at their hands, it would come as no surprise that something much darker is at hand, and you’ll have to fight your way through these mysteries to find the truth.
You will be well equipped for this mission, though. Noa is an expert at hacking and can pull off some intense moves during Jack Move‘s turn-based combat. You can simply hack your enemy, or add some flare and execute some Software, which acts like magic or specialty moves. You’ll have access to a variety of moves, but the catch is you need enough RAM to install them. If you’re particularly attached to some RAM-heavy move sets, you’ll be able to disperse them across different battle decks, which allow you to try out different roles in battle depending on the decks you set up. You also have a special gauge for your ultimate attack, which is pretty swell for a good old massive damage hit.
Pairing the gracefully flowing animations in these battles with an intricate battle system makes it a strong contender in the JRPG arena. You’ll be chomping at the bit to watch Noa bust out some tech-based attacks and trounce her opponents in this eye-grabbing cyberpunk game.
