Shutter Stroll is a game all about exploring procedurally-generated worlds and taking pictures whenever you feel like it.
It’s not a secret that I love taking photos. I love having pictures of people, events, food, textures, nature, and anything that really happens around me, so I wish I could visit the island world of this game in real life right now.
Your boat will bring you to an island, and you can get off of it. Nobody else is ever on these islands. It’s just you, your camera, and the nature around you, so you can make the most of this relaxing space. You can run around, finding the best angles or the coolest rock formation, or maybe a nice river between two mountains. Then, take a little picture of it to save for later, and continue forward.
When you have explored the entire island or just want to see something new, you can hop back into your boat and either put in coordinates or you can just go to another random place. One of my islands had pink trees that were round like lollipops with a massive sun setting near it. In the current real world, we can’t really travel far, and I miss traveling to somewhere completely new. The game does help that need a bit, as it does feel like a lovely exploration.
Shutter Stroll also has a daily island, which seems to be the same for everyone, so you can know that every other person who logged on that day got to visit the same island you are appreciating. Maybe they hung out on the same rock as you, or perhaps took a look at the same sun. It’s fun to think about the world in Shutter Stroll while you explore.
