Your rhythm skills are sorely needed to help a little bird find its parents in Songbird Symphony, a bouncy game of resolving troubles through song.
Birb doesn’t really fit in with the other peacocks, having been taken in by Uncle Pea at a young age. Birb probably wouldn’t have had a problem with this, but everyone dumps on him for being different. Despite his cheerful nature and budding musical talent, there’s still whispers behind the poor bird’s back. Then to his face. These hurtful words, and a curiosity about who he really is, puts Birb on a journey to find some answers. And drop some beats while he’s at it.
You’ll be joining Birb on a journey through the wilds, meeting all kinds of other birds who can help in his travels. Well, if you can keep up with the music, that is. You’ll be engaging in song-based battles, tapping the right buttons to keep up with the ever-more complicated patterns that the game throws at you. These come with some spectacular dances with your allies and enemies, making for a colorful show as you savor the tunes.
Music isn’t just used for combat. You can help out other animals as you explore the game’s areas, earning new notes that will be added to the background music. By being a good friend to all you meet, you can enrich the songs of each area, bringing new heights to the music. You’ll have to poke around each area for secrets if you want to bring each song to its full glory, though. With a charming cast, lovely music, and colorful places to wander, it’ll be hard not to.
Songbird Symphony is available now on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Steam.
