Super UFO Fighter puts a colorful, 1 vs.1 spin on the classic UFO catcher game, having two players duke it out for fabulous(ish) prizes).
Players bash crates to reveal a wide variety of precious treasures like shortcakes, sheep, energy drinks, and even fresh rolls of toilet paper. You’ll need to use wit and strategy to out-maneuver your opponent and claim as many items as you can, using your tractor beam to pick the items up and drop them down your prize chute. Hopefully without your opponent clobbering you with their special moves and taking the treasure for their own.
One of the crates will eventually reveal the winning item, and then both players will madly scramble for it until one of them sinks it. This is almost as much fun to spectate as it is to play. Just expect some harsh words to fly as you fight over this precious award.
VV-Labo, a team of four Japanese students, has put together a wacky roster of characters, each controlling a UFO with different attributes. Will you use your speedy flight or your powerful punch to defeat your opponent? Or will you trap them under a bunch of crates? The sounds, the colors, and the music will have your heart pounding and your palms sweating as well. Fight it out to some sharp-sounding 8-bit hits in this fast-paced battle game!
Super UFO Fighter is projected to release this year, but in the meantime, you can follow its creation on the developer’s site.
