You might not be the most sure-footed colossal machine in the galaxy, but you’ll do your best to make a difference in Jettomero: Hero of the Universe‘s release on Nintendo Switch.
A striking, colorful universe of human colonies is in trouble, and their only savior is an indestructible robot. Sounds like a pretty good savior, but Jettomero isn’t exactly known for its balance. The clumsy robot is a bit prone to meandering as it moves from place to place, stumbling over the city blocks it’s meant to save and crushing them a little bit, but this charming robot is trying its best.
There’s something endearing about watching Jettomero try to save humanity when, debatably, it’s a far greater danger to it than any spacefaring threat. You can try to help by moving from planet to planet, seeking out giant alien threats and thumping them to show them they shouldn’t mess with your tiny friends. It’s the search that can be a problem, as you need to find fuel and keep from bumbling through apartment blocks in your enthusiasm to help. Although Jettomero does apologize if your house gets knocked over in the fray.
When not (somewhat) saving planets, you can spend some time taking in the shimmering galaxy around you. This generated place is oftentimes beautiful in its color, and a photo mode makes a welcome addition to Jettomero: Hero of the Universe for this reason. Just don’t sightsee for too long, lest more alien shenanigans go unchecked.
Jettomero: Hero of the Universe is available for $13.00 on the Nintendo Switch, and is also available on Itch.io and Steam.
