Showing rare intelligence for horror characters, you will control a group that refuses to split up as they explore an endless variety of haunted mansions with Phantom Halls.
You and your chosen crew of hapless victims will tackle the procedurally-generated corridors of a haunted mansion in Phantom Halls. These papercraft places offer danger in various forms, with zombies, ghosts, pumpkin men, and more all looking to chew on your head a bit. Luckily, you control a handful of people, rather than just a single character, giving you three times the firepower to deal with anything spooky that comes creeping your way.
Making use of three characters at once sounds unwieldy, but Phantom Halls looks to make it simple to control. Each character is assigned to a button, letting players lash out with everyone in their party with a few button presses. If that still doesn’t seem to work, you can also call on a real-world buddy to play the game with you in local co-op.
The characters you choose for your party will also have an effect on how simple your journey is. You can unlock and use a variety of characters with different powers, combining passive abilities to create a party that suits your combat style.
If keeping the team together when things get frightening sounds good to you (and if it doesn’t, hopefully you never find yourself in a horror game), you’ll want to look into the deadly, but silly, Phantom Halls.
Phantom Halls is available for $19.99 on Steam.
