Escape Doodland‘s various hand-drawn inhabitants may have digestive issues, but with a colossal monster chasing them, there’s no time to let gas problems slow you down.
Various goofy creatures live in the world of Escape Doodland, and while these silly monsters all look different, they all share the same digestive problems that make fleeing a huge, hungry monster a bit of a problem. Omnomus loves the taste of these critters, and means to chase them across land, sea, and air, so it’s not a great time for an upset tummy. Still, a little gas in a monster’s face just might make it back off, and cutting one near a source of flame could give you the rocket propulsion you need to get away.
Despite its silly premise and school notebook style enemies and locales, Escape Doodland means to push you with some punishing challenge. Leaping, flying, and swimming around the various hazards while staying ahead of Omnomus is a constant juggling act that forces you to make decisions without hesitation, likely resulting in many deaths before you can help these critters to freedom.
Escape Doodland offers some ruthless action, but with enough humor to hopefully crack you up and keep you from getting too frustrated as your gassy pals die over and over again.
Escape Doodland is available for $9.99 on Steam and the Nintendo Switch eShop.
