If you can tap the blocks in numerical order as skeletons bash your head around, you have a chance to clear the catacombs of Numgeon.
Numgeon dares adventurers with basic counting skills to brave dangerous depths. Taking you to dungeons filled with monsters and treasures, you’ll have to click the numbers as quickly and accurately as possible to land successive hits. If you can do that quickly, you’ll rack up combos that will go a along way to keeping your chosen warrior alive. You also fill up a Magic meter as you tap colored numbers, and once it’s full, you can launch some powerful hits.
Numgeon isn’t just about the danger. You can find helpful treasures or buy useful items with found gold, letting you customize your character’s play style. You can also unlock new adventurers to gain different combat styles as well, or find new palettes and play modes in your journeys.
Numgeon aims to keep things simple with its counting and clicking play style, but offers endless complexity through its push to achieve higher scores. It’s also a game that works if you have very little time, as it can easily be played in quick chunks. Best of all, it finally lets you weaponize your ability to do really basic numerical tasks.
Finally, I can fell knights by counting. All those years of practice in grade school are paying off.
Numgeon is available for $2.99 on Steam.
