Azul may have lost his love, his status, and his honor, but his double jumping, rolling, and sword skills are top notch in Steel Sword Story, a challenging new title from the developer of 1001 Spikes.
A kingdom has been betrayed by Rufus, which has left things in kind of a rough state. You wonder how much trouble Rufus could cause, but it’s so bad it’s going to wipe the whole place out. It’s bad news, but luckily, there’s a potential hero with nothing to lose. Which means he definitely has nothing better to do than to save everyone right now. That’s so nice of him. Especially since he’ll be doing it with a rusty sword.
Developed using Pixel Maker MV, Steel Sword Story will have you carving your way through all of the problems Rufus has created, slashing in multiple directions depending on where that trouble is coming from. Naturally, monsters aren’t keen on being stabbed and will fight back, testing your double jumping and rolling abilities. You can also fling a little bit of magic around if things get hairy, too.
Steel Sword Story looks to capture the feel of “old school action games”, which likely translates to ruthless levels of challenge. So, prepare a few extra controllers if you aim to clean up Rufus’ mess when the game releases.
A demo for Steel Sword Story is available on Steam.
