As Nova, a nano cleaner, you’re tasked with collecting deadly dust across a vast world, but what mysteries lie in this challenging cleaning job?
Anodyne 2: Return to Dust takes you to two very different worlds as you collect dust for recycling at ‘The Center.’ You’ll explore a large 3D world of varied, imaginative lands, platforming and driving across it in your search for dangerous particles. You’ll also meet some interesting characters and equally interesting places, capturing that sense of the surreal and evocative that early forays into 3D captured.
Anodyne 2: Return to Dust will also take you to some dungeons reminiscent of the original Anodyne, offering top-down exploration and monster-thwacking. You’ll need to get tiny to get into these places, but you are hunting down dust, after all. Who knew that would be such an adventure, though.
Like much of their previous work, Anodyne 2: Return to Dust offers some complex questions to be answered throughout their journey (like what all the big fuss about this dust is about), promising a thoughtful journey that will stick with you long after it’s done. Especially with all of those pretty PSX-era places.
Anodyne 2: Return to Dust is slated for release in mid-2019, but can be added to your Steam Wishlist now. You can also join a mailing list on the developer’s site.
