Environmental hazards, cave-ins, and poisonous gases, as well as the exertion of exploration, will all tire you as you seek buried valuables to help your town in Miasma Caves.
Lesath is looking to take up the family business of treasure hunting, which should work wonders for rejuvenating her village, Radiant Ridge. If it were easy, though, anyone could do it. The caves where the loot lies aren’t filled with lost horrors and dangerous beasts, but regular old environmental hazards. Cave-ins, dangerous gases, and just getting tired are all hazards you’ll need to be careful of, so keep an eye on your surroundings and Lesath’s health.
Cave exploration brings many different surprises and challenges as well, as the cave is randomly generated, offering all-new troubles when you go inside. Still, you can also find many valuables, many of which can be appraised to find out lore about Misasma Caves‘ world. And some silly jokes, which are a nice bonus, too.
You’re not just looking to get personally wealthy in Miasma Caves. You’ll use your accrued funds to upgrade the village, helping it grow in various ways. This does help you in the long run, though, as it unlocks items and bonuses that will help you survive your underground trips. You’ll also gain some appreciation from your local friends, who you should take some time to talk to while you’re back in town. Hopefully they’ll have some nice things to say to you, what with you paying to fix up their houses and shops.
Miasma Caves is available now on Steam Early Access.
