Tweak and perfect city planning to make things better for humans and nature, optimizing for life over machines in metroPROVEMENT.
Melissa Ran’s metroPROVEMENT is a simulation game all about changing out buildings to build the ultimate natural, happy city. To make the best city, you’ll need to remove unnatural barriers like roads, and create spaces for people to share experiences. A happy city is one where people can see one another, share spaces, and enjoy their surroundings.
Melissa Ran’s previous tinkering with cities, algorithmic-generation, and procedural towns has all come to a head with metroPROVEMENT, as statistics and tracking are included to work out the effects that different building types have on the residents of the area.
While certain functions, like building a monorail and replacing roads with pedestrian-focused areas, are instant and without animation, there’s a great satisfaction to be found in shifting through the building types on each of the lots.
You can have up to three cities saved within the game files, however there’s very little reason to move between them. Instead, it is much more fun to see how your little changes draw citizens onto the streets and ramp up the percentages to be more favorable in real time.
