Birds With Feelings will have you conversing (tactically), helping some avian diplomats stop a war using compassion and understanding.
Naturally, feelings are quite important to the bird populace of Birds With Feelings. Each of the combatants has feelings you need to take into account as you move in to carry on a conversation. Depending on their emotional state and how it jives with that of your diplomat, you may be able to befriend them and talk them out of their warring ways. Likewise, where you position your bird, or if you use them or not in an encounter, will also affect their mental state, reshaping who they are over the course of play.
As you play through the game, the object is to help all of the birds grow, emotionally, giving them what they need to maintain or move toward healthy feelings. However, it isn’t a failure if you cannot make friends with everyone, as the story simply moves on based on your connections and feelings. You cannot really lose, as life goes on no matter what your emotional state is. All you can do is work to do better next time.
Birds With Feelings looks like it will be a thoughtful, heartfelt (and bird pun-filled) strategy experience, offering a lovely message alongside a neat new take on tactical games.
Birds With Feelings is currently in development, but you can follow its creation on its site.
