Low-poly platformer A Song in the Void tasks you with terraforming a barren, deserted planet.
With your help, flora and fauna will flourish, small animals will start inhabiting the ground and skies, life will return to this lifeless place. It’s quite the sight to behold, and the game’s minimalist design actually adds to this. Each new element, each new color feels like a big change.
By succeeding in separate platforming sequences, you gradually fill the planet with life. These challenges feel more like abstract jumping puzzles at times. They also can be quite tricky. However, wondering what comes next, which new changes will be triggered on the planet, keeps you going.
All of this jumping and puzzling is also tied to the game’s music. Progressing through the puzzles adds new elements, such as new instruments or a different beat. Quite often, there’s a sense of foreboding, or of urgency, to this, all thanks to the soundtrack.
With new flora and fauna on the planet, the overworld music also constantly changes and provides an almost dreamlike feel to the whole experience. Each of the five islands that need to be restored has its own musical theme.
All of this feels delightfully strange and inspiring, until… well, see for yourself. In any case, these islands are worth a visit.
A Song in the Void is available now on Steam.

Great, thanks for letting us know.
A Song in the Void seems to have the potential as an amazing puzzle platformer indie.
I like the enchanting music in the trailer and the game’s rather very refreshing landscapes.
I haven’t tried it yet so more gameplay samples would be nice.
Not prioritizing it now but will look for it down the road.
