Want to see what happens when Flash Man and Charge Man clash? See what happens when Bomb Man, Cut Man, and Charge Man fight? Fan game Mega Man Arena has you covered.
Mega Man Arena is a multiplayer fighting game that lets you choose from an array of classic Mega Man bosses, pitting them against one another in four player matches. Pharaoh Man, Shadow Man, Metal Man, Proto Man, and many more are available to play with, letting players put these bosses and their abilities to work on their pals. You can also put them up against the computer if you and your friends want to give a certain boss a hard time (all while playing through challenging arenas shaped after various stages from the games as well).
The most recent version of Mega Man Arena added in a bunch of new playable characters, a ton of familiar stages (you can fight on the title screen of Mega Man 2, of all places), a single player score mode, and the extremely cool, probably extremely (delightfully) broken Power Gear. Power Gear puts your powers into hyperdrive, launching dozens of shots of each weapon to just fill the screen with Metal Blades and Crash Bombs. It’s a little wild, is what I’m saying.
Mega Man Arena is looking like a great multiplayer experience for fans of the classic games, and seems like it will only continue to get better as the developer adds to it.
Mega Man Arena is available through the game’s site. You can also support its developer through Patreon.
Genius!
It’s been a dream of mine to see Mega Man characters clash.
Looks like the developer Jeff Kish already made that dream a reality.
Mega Man Arena is the real “MMA” in the world of video games!
