The person who is the most elevated will be doing the most damage in Magic Scroll Tactics, a tactical RPG where higher positions offer greater damage and defense.
Nash’s world is in a bit of a bind, as some nasty Magi aim to revive an ancient witch that apparently wants to destroy the world as soon as she’s back up and about. Nash is a powerful summoner, though, able to call upon frog warriors, flying creatures, lizard knights, and irritated mermaids to help her fight back against the magic forces that are causing trouble.
With their own equipment and attacks, each of these fighters make for effective battle units in Magic Scroll Tactics. That said, don’t feel like they have to just stick to whichever job they start off with. Each can be equipped with different jobs to change up how they play, allowing you to vary your party however you like.
No matter what career route your frogs and lizards take, you’ll want to focus on getting them to the highest position you can. As the game is a sidescrolling tactical game, beneficial positioning is tied to height. Higher ground conveys bonuses to attack and defense, so getting up high, and knocking your opponents down from those spots, is your best plan. Nothing a little magic or flying units can’t fix if the enemy won’t get down.
Magic Scroll Tactics is available now on the Nintendo Switch and Steam.
