You wouldn’t know it at a glance, but Songbird Symphony is an intense rhythm/adventure game where you will have to keep a beat with your cheeps!
Sitting down to Songbird Symphony as a rhythm game enthusiast made me feel like I had it in the bag. I chirped freely as I platformed around the level, honing my skills. I happened upon a bee that wanted to be led to flowers and a mysterious lever that bestowed giant fruit unto the wild squirrels nearby. The level was full of music to listen to, but the rhythm challenge was yet to come.
After exploring the colorful forest, I tried my hand against an Owl boss. He sang a dark song at my plump and bouncy self and challenged my rhythm skills. This is when I found I had underestimated Songbird Symphony. I was panicked and trying to keep my rhythm as the game threw a few curve balls (like suddenly incorporating hold mechanics, and even other buttons). I had not expected to have come so close to defeat in this very gentle looking game. It certainly has inspired me to sharpen my talons for its eventual release.
I had a lot of fun despite my skills not being up to snuff. The characters are adorable, and the music is masterful at setting the mood. Being able to freely sing along to the beat of the ambient music is always a bonus, too.
Songbird Symphony is coming soon. You can check out the official website for more details.
