Create and play through hundreds of user-created platforming experiences, tumbling to your doom in many, many ways, using HiberWorld.
HiberWorld is an interesting level-creation and sharing platform which continues to grow through its beta state. I’ve been lucky enough to see HiberWorld develop over the last few years. When it was first showcased to me back in 2017, it was close to being a medium for creating interactive art installations. Now, it is a level creation software for a browser-based platformer.
The tools for creating levels are incredibly intuitive, and the developers have plans for adding more bells and whistles as development continues. However, even as it stands, there’s already a lot of things on offer. Perhaps the best thing about HiberWorld is that it is entirely online, although I think the sheer variety of levels already available — from brightly-colored stages to moody, shadowy lands — is equally impressive.
In an age where the likes of Garry’s Mod and Super Mario Maker continue to sell well, there’s definitely room for a malleable toolset like that of HiberWorld. Especially one with zero barrier for entry.
HiberWorld is available to play for free via browser, and you can find out more about it on its official site.
