Voxel Tycoon offers the ambitious experience of becoming a god-like business tycoon. You’ll have control over 50+ types of vehicles, what types of goods they carry, their schedule, mining facilities, conveyors to transport ores, and more.
There is certainly no shortage of tasks, but you’ll have to balance your budget at the end of the day.
You have control over a lot of different aspects of the game, which you’ll need to tweak to keep those profits high. For example, you’ll have different types of vehicles to choose from, but you also have to customize those vehicles to suit your customers’ demands. The type of cargo, its weight, the motor power, and grade are all things you’ll need to think on, as well as whether you want to take a long trip out into the infinite world in hopes of finding distant goodies, or taking many small trips that are lower risk, but possibly lower-yield. You’ll even have to factor in traffic systems to prevent an untimely and unprofitable crash.
Once you’ve dealt with how to handle the transportation of goods, it’s time to focus on factories. You’ll be able to create mine shafts and extract precious materials which you can refine further. This will, of course, also come at a cost by creating furnaces and crushers. Perhaps there are even more technologies you can unlock, if you’re willing to put in the research.
At the end of the day, you’re building an economy and fostering its growth. You want a booming city that is ready to spend, but you’ll have to have mastered all aspects to meet their demand and earn their dollars. As your city grows, you’ll have to continuously invest back into your development to create a booming empire that supplies the most top-quality resources money can buy.
Voxel Tycoon offers so many layers of complexity on both the micro and macro level that any strategy game lover will be salivating. After all, who doesn’t love watching their perfect city come together?
Voxel Tycoon has a pre-alpha demo available on Itch.io. You can also wishlist it on Steam.
