You’ve been drawn back to town after hearing your mother is sick and doesn’t have much time left. Except it seems the town itself is what’s sick, and you’re the one with little time left.
Welcome to Quiet Haven carries on after Now Entering Quiet Haven, starting the player off at a roadside motel. There was a massacre there years ago, in case you’re feeling like settling in for a comfortable snooze for the night. Here’s just the start of the haunted locales you’ll find in this cursed town, though, so you’ll want to get moving. Preferably in a reliable vehicle.
Cars are an important part of this horror series. For starters, the town is huge, and you’ll be able to get around much easier if you have some wheels to cruise around in. Also, there are plenty of things that are creeping about the streets – things you’re going to want to be able to get away from in a hurry. Make sure you don’t forget to fuel up while driving around town looking for clues, though. You wouldn’t want to run out of gas in the wrong place.
Welcome to Quiet Haven aims to offer an entire city of varied hauntings to find and die to, with secrets and folklore scattered all over the ruined city. What sorts of ghosts and ghouls will you find? This ability to find hauntings or miss them entirely loans the fearful game an interesting power, where its frights are born from the unknown, rather than a threat the player knows well. You really don’t know what unsettling things are out there, or what they’ll do, making for a scary journey through the dark, dark streets.
