Putting an interesting spin on the pollution of plastics in the ocean, Flotsam takes those resources and puts them to good use – building.
Take on this gigantic ocean world and all of the dangers that lurk within. Maybe even befriend a seagull or two.
You will be put in charge of some inventive drifters, diving into wrecks and piles or trash to find salvageable pieces to create the city of your dreams. Stoves to cook meat, desalination stations, solar stills, beds – you need to survive in this brutal sea world after all. If you’re really savvy, you’ll be able to rescue fellow drifters and have them live in your town. Extra laborers are your bread and butter in a city builder, after all. You’ll also be able to upgrade your city to accommodate these extra mouths by adding food trucks (Yum!).
Now, you don’t want to get too comfortable in one place as your resources could dry up quickly. You’ll want to explore all this world has to offer, too. Luckily, with your city being built on water, you’ll be able to cruise the ocean currents to discover new places and new treasures. You need to be well-equipped to take on these challenges, though, because some really nasty critters live beneath the ocean and they may want to make you into their next snack. Don’t let one bad egg spoil you, as there are tons of sea creatures you can befriend if you give them a little TLC. They’re suffering with all that trash, too.
Clean up the ocean, build a bustling sea-town, and enjoy a beautiful cel-shaded style along with it. If you’re looking for your next city builder and feel like helping out this virtual trash-ridden world, Flotsam might just float your boat.
