Depression is an extremely difficult thing to cope with, and for outsiders, it may be hard for them to realize just how to help.
Freud Gate takes a leap at helping people understand this daunting mental illness by taking them on a journey of both reality and imagination.
Through this narrative journey, you will be guiding a girl with depression and helping her as a spiritual mentor. In one instance, you’ll be able to take the shape of a wolf and give the girl a ride on your back, helping her out however you can. Helping her also means solving puzzles in each level. Only once you’ve solved the puzzle, will you be able to continue on your journey of bringing some light to the girl’s world.
Unfortunately, the game isn’t all a world of beauty and imagination – you’ll be bounced back and forth between the real world and your imagination. The real world may have its own challenges for you to face head on.
As you progress, you’ll be given decisions and if you do not choose the right option, you may be faced with a bad ending. You’ll want to strive for a full understanding of depression in order to help the girl through it and get the best ending you can get. What kind of spiritual mentor would you be if you didn’t want the best outcome for your protégé?
