Roguelike Hero‘s protagonist might not have the best attitude or the nicest home, and he might fight a bit dirty, but he still can rise to the top with your help.
The main character has things a bit rough as he’s struggling to become a walk-on actor in some action movies that are being filmed nearby. He’s got to show up to set each day in hopes of landing a role in some comedy action movies, and with a little persistence, he might land a chance to show his stuff. The trouble is, he’s kind of a lackluster hero who isn’t above throwing a sucker punch or two.
That penchant for fighting dirty might be unbecoming a hero, but for someone just trying to survive filming, it might be what gets you through. Each stage of the game is a day of filming, offering different enemy sets and storylines to work through. You don’t just need to make it through filming in one piece, but you also want to make an entertaining movie. This means you’ll want to get creative with your attacks, putting bodily fluids and gases to work if it helps you charm the audience.
Inspired by Stephen Chow comedies and other ridiculous action films, Roguelike Hero aims to capture the wild, silly nature that comes with marrying complex martial arts battles and absurd setpieces. Hopefully your antics get into the main movie and not just the blooper reel.
Roguelike Hero is currently in development, but in the meantime, you can add it to your Steam Wishlist.
