Want a JRPG that looks like a JRPG, plays like a JRPG, but has the most non-stereotypical protagonists? Orangeblood is what you want and need right now.
These four girls are equipped for mass violence, and that’s perfect for street fights with the Yakuza or killer robots. What better way to spend a day in an alternate-timeline 20th century Japan?
You will be following four girls on their quest for cash. Who doesn’t want some pocket change? Well, you’ll have more than enough if you hit up some of the major gambling rings, that’s for sure. There’s plenty of opportunities to earn some quick money, perhaps by decimating your enemies in turn-based combat. Fill them up with lead, slice ’em, blast them with hip-hop beats, or just pummel them – each girl has their own strength.
Taking place in a timeline different from our own, New Koza is a man-made island off the coast of Okinawa. It has quite the personality to boot. You’ll find quite an adult vibe on this island of neon structures, but that’s perfect for those who want to make lots of (dirty) money. Gambling, street meat, seaside lounges – you’ll find plenty of places to spend your ill-gotten cash, and good company to spend it with. Like the dog you can meet.
The detailed pixel art of Orangeblood is astounding, and is only enhanced by the hip-hop soundtrack that fuels this neon-dream. If you’re looking for a raunchy place to get lost in, get lost in New Koza.
Orangeblood is coming to Steam on January 14th, 2020.
