There is a truth, but it is shrouded in lies within John’s mind. You’ll need to break through that denial to understand The Shattering.
You’ll be treated to a front-row seat to the mind of John, a man who has forgotten (and buried) a secret that a doctor is desperately trying to get him to face. You will be guided by the doctor through surreal environments that may warp and contort to try to shelter John’s psyche. It’s up to you to see this journey through to the end and uncover the name of a mysterious ‘her’ whose name you cannot recall.
The Shattering does not toss monsters and brain teasers at you along this narrative-focused journey. Instead, you will be treated to a refined experience that puts all its points into delivering a beautiful and jarring experience that paints a picture of a mind trying to escape reality.
That being said, you will definitely want to play extra close attention to these detailed environments, since every color and movement is invaluable to the experience. Maybe you’ll even be able to piece together the mystery all on your own. Maybe it will be such a devastating truth that you won’t even want to face it yourself, or invoke lies that you’ve told yourself to hide an inconvenient truth. It’s safe to say that game will put you at the edge of your seat as you dive deeper and deeper into this twisted psyche.
