Sky Racket will have you skillfully smacking enemies into one another with your laser racket as you weave between bullet arrays.
The galaxy is a mess of troublemakers, as usual. A Capybara Goddess is having none of it, and grants some mighty tennis powers to a pair of pals. RacketBoy and RacketGirl, with their laser rackets in hand, should be able to turn back these space meanies back by whacking them at each other. Which is a lot more efficient than using your own bullets, right? Much cheaper this way. This is how you save the galaxy while staying under budget.
The game is designed to tie brick breakers and shmups together, so expect to be dodging around bullet arrays while finding a good angle to wallop an enemy towards your foe. You might feel the slightest twinge of guilt as you send these critters flying, though, as they’re not exactly menacing. Expect to be clobbering living bananas, squirrels, cats, and mice as you go to war with the least frightening (yet still heavily-armed) invading forces I’ve ever seen. I guess these tiny creatures are much easier to knock into one another. If you were fighting space bears, you’d definitely need a bigger racket.
Sky Racket aims to offer some playful fun for a pair of monster-whacking buddies, all while providing a few chuckles at the game’s enemies and bosses. Maybe especially its bosses. What is a giant banana doing on a mission of galactic conquest, anyway?
Sky Racket is available now on the Nintendo Switch and Steam.
