To The Rescue! takes you into an adorable dog shelter filled with animals who are all unique and need a forever home. Won’t you help them out?
I was introduced to To The Rescue! as a part of the Big Indie Pitch Digital and I can’t wait to play the game when it is out.
When a dog enters your shelter, you are able to see the traits that make them unique, as well as any health-related notes, which change how they interact with you. A deaf dog can’t hear you call for them and needs a bit of extra guidance, for example. You’ll need to take care of all of these dogs, making sure they are fed, watered, and walked every day. Their needs have to be met to keep them happy and hopefully help them find a family who will love them!
When people come into your shelter to adopt, you will need to put your dogs in the display cages towards the front of the place, where a customer will tell you what they are looking for and then take a look around. They will gain stars based on the dogs you have and if their happiness bar fills up, they will make a selection and adopt!
To The Rescue! is just adorable, and showcases all of the aspects of running a shelter. There is more than just taking care of these dogs though, as dealing with hardships in the shelter becomes an aspect of running your own business. Outbreaks of illnesses among the pets or not having enough room for every dog can cause real dilemmas that you will need to work around, but raising funds and doing fundraisers might help you along the way.
To The Rescue! is also committed to donating 20% of the game’s sales to animal shelters, which will surely help real life places with some of the issues you will face in the game.
