Some gross woodensects have overtaken the world of a dancing turtle, so it’s up to you to squash them (and maybe deal with some unpleasant consequences) in The Debug.
A dancing turtle apparently can’t get his groove back when giant bugs are flitting all over his pond home, but you’re here to help. How? Swat bugs as they climb up a tree. Flick them away as they wander the logs. Set them on fire if they get too close to the flames. A ton of potential methods are available to you. Still, all of those work kinda slow. It’d be much easier if you just grabbed a can of Wood-Be-Gone™ spray and took care of the infestation all at once. Then your turtle bud could dance completely carefree.
I get the impression that Wood-Be-Gone™ wasn’t exactly tested for its effects on woodland life, though, as there may be some unintended consequences to taking this shortcut in life. This is a game by Samer Khatib, beloved horror developer and creator of frightening produce and eerie giraffe romance. Once again, things get unsettling in a hurry (like a super hurry, that turtle really creeps me out). Yet again taking something that looks innocent, yet off, Khatib drags us to a bizarre, frightening, and funny realm where it’s hard to predict what will happen next.
The Debug offers some compelling, unnerving adventures in swatting insects and dealing with the monstrous aftermath, and you owe it to yourself to experience its unique terrors. Plus, there’s some other neat things lurking within the game that you’ll DEFINITELY want to see.
The Debug is available now (for whatever you wish to pay for it) on itch.io.
