Across the Demon Realm 2 draws inspiration from many bloody platformers, aiming to bring those ideas together in a gore-stained jaunt through a monster-infested countryside.
This title draws from the dangerous worlds of the Ghouls N’ Ghosts series, taking you to a realm of constant danger. You’re a demon yourself, though, so maybe that will make life easier? Even as a good-spirited demon, though, you’ll be cutting your way through a large variety of gross creatures, spilling entrails throughout your journey. The game aims to be gross in its action, but also wants to give players a ton of visual and play variety with its enemies. Each stage is set to be filled with an array of different foes that all have different powers, so expect to constantly change up how you approach them.
Choosing the right tools will be the main way that you prepare for the unexpected, as the game’s only controls are movement, jump, and attack. You can pick up a handful of different weapons that change up how your attack works, though, so finding a weapon you like, or that works in ways that are effective against the monsters of a given area, will be vital. If you’re skilled enough you can work with whatever items you want, but it sure makes things easier if you pick a good weapon for the area.
Across the Demon Realm 2 wants you to be continually surprised by its foes and combat situations, with each stage bringing its own complex situations. The demo gives a taste of what’s to come, showing a promising look at the gruesome battles the full version will have in store for you.
Across the Demon Realm 2 is currently in development, but in the meantime, you can support its creation on Kickstarter or try out the demo on itch.io.
