SEARCH PARTY: Director’s Cut takes us back to the spooky house in Bluebell Woods, only with new places to explore (and likely meet a disturbing end in).
Claire’s luck hasn’t improved since we checked out the original game. Her brother has gone missing in the woods, and she finds an old, seemingly-abandoned house while looking for him. She naturally starts checking out its interior to see if he’s in there, finding the kind of creepy stuff that’s always written on the walls in houses where murderers hang out. Thank goodness these killers always take the time to document their thoughts on the walls of else I’d never know that they weren’t entirely happy with the state of the world. Anyway, you’ll want to poke around the house to find some tools to defend yourself, or else pick out some good hiding places.
This new release offers a couple of good reasons for people to come spend some more time in this bloody house. There’s a whole new area to explore filled with new tools (this builds on one of the endings from the previous version of the game). If you’re able to stay alive long enough to finish the game, there’s two new secret endings, as well as some unlockable toys for your next playthrough. There’s also the usual good tweaks and fixes to make it a better experience. Well, as much of a ‘better experience’ you can get in being killed in a house in the woods.
SEARCH PARTY: Director’s Cut aims to pull of some chilling moments as you square off against the house’s inhabitant (or avoid them as best you can), making for a gruesome, unsettling experience you won’t soon forget.
SEARCH PARTY: Director’s Cut will be made available today on Steam.
