Internet Court is about fighting crime in a future time. But instead of having machine guns in your chest, you prosecute people over online calls.
Does this take place in Empire City? Is the judge secretly Big Boss? Does anyone care about this stupid cartoon reference besides me? You’ve probably guessed that the answer to all those questions is no, but you’ll need better detective skills than that to solve these heinous online crimes. If only because the courtroom is kind of blasé about getting these crimes convicted. In their defense, things are just a little bit ridiculous in this courtroom.
Picture Phoenix Wright, but with things getting far sillier while no one is likely wearing pants. You’ll work your way through four serious online offences, dealing with friends who have unlawfully unfriended one another, illegally bad fanfiction, some deceptive online ads, and a person who posts mean reviews (likely without even playing the game, which should at least be punished with a wet towel flicking). Through crafty choices of which path to take in each case, you’ll break through a find the real truth. Fail that, and you’ll likely lose your online law license, never to practice digital lawyering in this Zoom call ever again.
Internet Court continues the proud, absurd traditions of Oh, a Rock! Studios, offering some lighthearted legal proceedings that will at least allow you to jail people you spend too much time doing online calls with. Likely something we are all about ready to do these days.
Internet Court is available now on itch.io and Steam.
