Scarlet Hood and the Wicked Wood sees you going through the same day, over and over again, until you can figure out its puzzles and break a witch’s spell.
Scarlet’s singing career has been interrupted by an unfortunate tornado. While that’s usually enough trouble on its own, this one also seems to have tossed Scarlet into an alternate world. In this place filled with tin men and evil witches, she finds herself cursed with a hex that makes her relive the same day. There’s a way to break this spell, but it’ll require you to figure out how to solve some brain-teasing puzzles and guide some munchkins to safety. Maybe they’ll reward you by being your backup singers later?
So, most of your time will be spent figuring out how to best live out your day, shaping it through the decisions you make and what puzzles you solve. You get seven chances at it, so hopefully you’ll be able to figure that out in time. Just try not to agitate some of these fairy tale creatures too much along the way, as you’re stalked by a wolf throughout the game. You have some witch powers to help you, but this game is by the developers of The Coma 2: Vicious Sisters, so the chases might be a bit intense at times.
Scarlet Hood and the Wicked Wood should offer some appealing challenges for anyone looking for a few brainteasers, as well as a charming story book adventure. Assuming you’re charmed by being chased by wolves, I guess.
Scarlet Hood and the Wicked Wood is available now on the Epic Games Store, GOG, and Steam.
