Katjepult is a lovely romp through an embroidered world, having you guide a cute cat as they run and play (and try not to fall off cliffs).
This incredible crafted cat is just trying to go for a little run across the grass. Can you blame them? It looks like such a happy little place. Even the mountains are grinning away as they watch you enjoying yourself. It’s just good for the soul, is what it is. The trouble is, there’s all these cliffs everywhere. They kind of break up the cute atmosphere. Just a little bit. Still, if your cat takes a tumble, you can just start running and try again. I mean, your score gets reset, but cats don’t care about getting high scores on games, do they? They just want to enjoy the feel of the air as they hurry along.
The most challenging things about the game seems to be that I just can’t focus on what I’m playing because it looks so good. The embroidered style makes this look like a living craft, and loans the environments this happiness that warms my heart with every second I spend playing. Sure, I keep stumbling over bits of yarn and losing my momentum, eventually tumbling off a cliff, but I’m fine doing this run over and over again just so I can savor this pretty place for a bit longer.
Katjepult is an absurdly-charming experience and easily the best use of your time that I can think of. What were you really gonna do today that would be better than playing with an embroidered cat? Nothing, that’s what.
