Slumber Squad has you and some friends trying to play a game together at a birthday party. If you’ve ever tried this before, you know how hard their task is.
You and a few friends (or maybe you all by yourself, as these distractions don’t discriminate) are trying to work through a cute game. Just get the bunnies to hop across the platforms without falling down pits. There’s not too many in-game hazards making this especially challenging. However, you’re at a birthday party for a friend, so there are constant interruptions. Come sign the card. Questions about what you’re doing and how the game is going. Little brother invasions. It never stops.
Each distraction works in its own way. Mom tends to hover in the middle of the screen. Little brother will make the tv hop or start whaling on your seat with a bat. The cat keeps jumping in the way. You need to juggle having friends get these distractions out of the way, or try your best to play while ignoring them. This keeps getting increasingly harder, really capturing that birthday/slumber party vibe. I have no idea why, but people and things always get in the way when you’re just trying to enjoy a game with your friends at these events. It’s just how nature works, I guess.
Slumber Squad was an adorable take on this common pain many of us have shared, turning those nuisances into a charming party game. At least getting your mom out of the way is part of the game this time.
