Growbot stars a cute robot aboard a nature-filled space station. You’ll be guiding this little thing through its charming interactions with fuzzy, strange alien life.
This is one of those games where you’re just happy to meet the folks within its world. The game is filled with all kinds of fantastic creatures, a personal favorite being the fuzzy hologram with the galaxy in its stomach. It’s just so cheery-looking. It’s just one of the many beings that makes this lush ship their home (also, I love the idea of a starship filled with natural life instead of the usual cold, steel corridors). They’ll offer some great company as you solve point & click puzzles to get all of these machines up and running again. A captain should know how to keep their ship in operation, after all.
Some of your actions will be quite wild. Collecting the sounds of flowers to create powerful shields? Just the idea of something like this seems unique enough to draw my interest. It is a way for the game to tie the natural world and the mechanical together in some compelling ways, creating a connection between the two instead of having them in opposition. It’s a lovely theme for an equally-lovely place, and it should make for a really charming place to meander through for a while.
Growbot is looking ridiculously cute with its biopunk look, offering a lovely vision of a future that looks kind of nice. While the place is in trouble, hopefully it will inspire people to bring nature together with tech instead of keeping them apart.
Growbot will be made available today on Steam.
