Moonglow Bay sees you trying your hand at becoming an angler to fulfil your partner’s final wish. With that simple request, you may see a whole town come back to life.
Set in Eastern Canada in the 80’s, you’ll arrive at a coastal town that’s falling apart (in all kinds of ways). Your partner wanted you to try to save their business, so here you are. With few fishing skills and the town in such a state, you will have a lot of work to do. Still, as you push yourself to explore the town and build your fishing skills, you should be able to start bringing some money in to keep the business going. As you cook your catches and meet your neighbors, you’ll also have a good chance of repairing those broken relationships in the town that have left it all falling to pieces.
Learning to fish with a rod, traps, and nets, as well as doing so in all kinds of temperatures and conditions, would make for some lonely work all by yourself, wouldn’t it? Thankfully, the game features drop-in/out co-op, so a pal can join you on your sea travels. Can’t hurt to find double the fish while out catching, to be honest. And since you’re fishing in a video game, you only get the good parts of fishing (spending time with friends) and not the bad parts (being eaten alive by insects, actually having to go fishing).
Moonglow Bay offers a charming adventure in fishing (we certainly liked it a lot, what with it being one of our five best peaceful couch co-op games), brought to life through wonderful music, a striking setting, and friendships both real and within the narrative.
Moonglow Bay is available now on the Microsoft Store, Epic Games Store, and Steam.
