Alisa sees you dealing with an array of clockwork horrors with different abilities. A change of wardrobe can shift your stats, giving you an edge against them, though.
Our heroine is an Elite Royal Agent out looking for a wanted criminal, which leads her to an old Victorian mansion. Nothing good ever seems to come from entering these old mansions. Why can’t rich people ever do something normal in their big, spooky houses? Anyway, the place is just full of mechanical dolls and other odd, humanoid devices. Of course, all of them are quite hostile and persistent, so you’ll have a hard time arresting your target. Especially since the game touts that it’s hard.
Luckily, there’s a load of armor and dresses that all happen to fit your size. That or Alisa is a great seamstress who can work under pressure. And a blacksmith, maybe? Anyway, you can grab some varying pieces of gear in this horror game, outfitting yourself to better deal with the creatures you’re fighting. And if that isn’t enough, you’re free to try out the variety of weapons that are lying around. Or you can buy some of this stuff from a hand puppet merchant. Not entirely sure whose hand is inside the puppet, but maybe I’m better off not knowing some answers. Given the nature of the machines walking around this place, I think I prefer to be in the dark on this one.
Alisa gives off a strong Resident Evil vibe (which we got to see in action when we played the game before), offering a strong challenge as you work your way through a weird mansion. The outfits and weapons ensure you’ll have lots of ways to tackle your various challenges, though, so surely you’ll find one method to help our agent pull through.
Alisa is available now on itch.io.
