Wobbledogs gives you a bunch of silly, snoozy virtual pets to care for, and how you raise/feed them will dictate what happens to them as they grow up.
In this game, you will care for a group of goofy mutts that just happen to mutate often. As they get older, they sometimes go into a pupal stage and pop out as something completely different (but no less adorable). This is largely effected by their diet, which is reflected by what’s going on in their tummies. If you have a look, you can see the flora floating around inside them. This will dictate the ways they mutate, so you can keep track of this in order to control the mutations as you see fit. Or just feed the little dogs whatever they want and let things go however they go.
While guiding their evolution is definitely complex and satisfying, it’s also a delight to just sit and watch them toddle around for a while. Their silly designs, as well as their funny actions, make it a treat to just see how they’re going about their days. Just watching them take a nap gave me a warm feeling. And, of course, you can take a moment to pet them. They do need, love, after all. You can show them more affection by creation a great living space for them to play in, too. You control the rooms and things inside them (they look a bit like hamster cages), so you’ll want to give them lots of different locations to mess around in.
Wobbledogs is charming just to watch, filling your screen with a bunch of ever-changing dogs. It’s more than just a dog-watching game, though, offering some interesting options to toy with the environment and food to see what sort of changes you can make in the animals you’re caring for.
Wobbledogs is available now on Steam.
