Neodori Forever sets you free on some long stretches of low-poly highway, letting you hurtle down the asphalt at absurd speeds as the world flies by.
With its randomly generated roads, this game aims to give you as many races as you care to take part in. And these stretches of road are gorgeous, sending you down rose-lined pathways filled with windmills, quiet cities, moonlit beaches, and deserts filled with ancient structures. There’s also a day/night cycle if you’re prefer a little nighttime driving. If you don’t ever want to leave these patches of road, you can try out the Forever Mode, which lets you endlessly rush through all of the various areas. The perfect thing if you want to lose yourself behind the wheel without worrying about gas prices, I guess.
Not that you have a whole lot of time to pay attention to what’s around you, as you’ll be moving at a quick pace. This game feels like it’s constantly going a few hundred kilometers per hour, with your car weaving in and out of traffic. Or drifting around whatever corner tries to slow your pace. You just need to be careful not to spin out. Or run into someone. Bashing into a cop can bring a lot of trouble your way. It’s much better to bump into the coins and gas pickups along the track. Gas will keep you driving, and coins will let you buy some new cars. There’s a whole suite of potential rides to try, so the money will be well spent when you collect it.
Neodori Forever harkens back to many classic arcade racing games, capturing that sense of wild speeds and vibrant cities to race through. That you can do it as long as you like, and in such striking places, make it a great racing experience.
Neodori Forever is available now on Steam.
