You’ve got a ton of files downloading in lose95, but very little room on your hostile hard drive. Better get rid of some stuff. Except that stuff would rather get rid of you.
You have a progress bar at the bottom left of the screen that shows your hard drive steadily filling up. Maybe you should have looked at this BEFORE you started downloading all of this junk? No time for that now, though. You’ve got to rush through your file folders an click on things to get rid of them. Deletion is fast, thankfully, but you just have to keep an eye on your file path to know where you’re at on your computer. You’ll wreck the machine if it fills up too much, and you can’t delete things if you’re lost down some twisting file path.
Not all of your files are keen on you getting rid of them. Some of them will shoot stunning shots to keep you from deleting them. Others will make pop-ups appear on the screen that get in the way of your work. You can close the pop-ups, but that’s time spent not deleting files. Moving files and other attacking documents will appear as well, all of them trying to slow you down. Don’t they realize the whole computer is at risk? Thankfully, as you move through the various drives, you’ll gain tools that make stun wear off quicker, give you a chance to dodge incoming shots, or grant you items that let you get some free disc space. They’re handy tools, and given how easy it is to get lost down a file path or get clobbered by angry files, you’ll need them.
lose95 is compelling and fun, and rapidly drew me into spending a few hours deleting files at high speeds. I never knew cleaning up the computer could be this exciting.
lose95 is available now on itch.io.
