Agent no. 6 seems an awful lot like a certain N64 shooter based around a martini-drinking secret agent. Although your foes may be more terrifying than you remember.

‘An Awful Lot Like” is putting it lightly. If you played Goldeneye, you’ll instantly feel at home with the weapons and layouts of this brief horror game. If you haven’t, you’ll be guiding our secret agent protagonist around a military facility and blasting the soldiers within. Thankfully, there’s no shortage of ammo as you take guns from your fallen enemies and use them on their comrades. If you play it sneaky, you can likely get the drop on some of them before they try to overwhelm you with their numbers. I mean, there are a lot of these guys all over the place. They’ll take you down if you draw too much attention all at once.
This all seems like fairly standard shooter fare, except the game keeps giving weird messages and errors. I thought the program just wasn’t put together quite right, but these glitches and warnings seemed to hint that something was genuinely off. There’s mention of an entity. I thought it was just a programming term I didn’t know, but after a while, something begins to stalk you in the game. The locations shift from an outdoor facility into something deep underground. You begin to see blood everywhere. Shadowy shapes skirt just out of sight. It’s not long before those forms aren’t content to just follow you any more.
Agent n. 6 is a faithful take on Goldeneye when it wants to be, but it’s also a devious horror shooter that will have you scrambling to fire at disturbing things chasing you in the dark. It’s a heck of a shift in tone and makes for some downright terrifying shootouts.
