I feel like I have seen mobile games advertised with the same sort of concept, but without a lot of the charm that Fantasketch has! This puzzle game has you drawing different shapes so that you can solve a bunch of puzzles, with some paints having their own special effects so that you can change the world before you end up at the end of the levels.
At first, you will see a level and get to draw whatever shape you want. These shapes are drawn before you start, with one being created at a time. If you find that you didn’t draw the right shape, you can reset or you can just draw something else and leave the old one asleep. In Fantasketch, you cannot really awaken those who are asleep, but you can use their bodies to complete different levels by having them as slopes or by stacking them into bridges as they can stick together when they are asleep, if you time it correctly!

When drawing characters, there are different colors and amounts of paint. If you run out of an amount, you won’t be able to create the colored creature, so you do need to watch these numbers! The different colors work as abilities, with the first one being a red paint that allows red characters to burn boxes that they run into – very useful for strange walls that need removing, though that might not be the character that makes it to the end as they need to be asleep to cause the burn to happen.
Fantasketch feels like a fairly unique puzzle game, with a lot of color and charming going for it. I was able to play a demo at Hyper Japan, where I found the puzzles to be a lot of fun! There isn’t a release date, but you can wishlist the game ahead of it’s release on Steam.
