Rogue Raccoon sees you stealing snacks from fridges that are spread throughout a puzzling, trap-filled museum.
The cover art on this game really got me interested in figuring out exactly what the game itself was. I have played some other raccoon games where you can dig in dumpsters and hang out in fridges, so figured I’d give this one a go. How many raccoons have boomerangs, after all?

Rogue Raccoon has you breaking into a huge, overprotected museum that’s got loads of fridges with the same frog sticker one them! You need to eat the food there and then head to the exit, (although you can complete a bunch of the levels without actually getting to the food at all). I am not really sure what collecting the food does, but there is a counter that follows you into each level showing how much food you have collected so far.
You are a raccoon with tools and can use your boomerang to trigger levers or defeat robots that are walking around. In each level, you do have two lives; if you hit a robot or a hazard like a laser, you can just continue on. If you do lose both lives or fall out of the level, you will reset at your last save point, which is either at the beginning of the level or where your raccoon found and interacted with a trash bin.
There is a lot of challenge to be found in this 30-level game as you find more hazards, bigger gaps, and greater difficulties in how you time your lever hits. I really struggled with the levels that contained big fans that were just large enough to make them impossible to easily jump over. Although Rogue Raccoon can be completed in one sitting, you might find yourself rage quitting if you don’t get the timing just right!
Rogue Racoon is available now on the PlayStation Store and the Microsoft Store.
