Frankenstein’s Monster sees you and your friends racing around a town collecting body parts to make the best monster possible.
In this game, everyone is a scientist looking to dig up old body parts, steal from each other, and present their findings to a panel of their peers, hoping to be the next greatest scientist. got a chance to play this game at Develop: Brighton earlier this year. While I did feel that the tutorial was a bit lengthy, the concept was fantastic.

Frankenstein’s Monster takes part in two phases, with the first phase needing you to gather up your monster. You need a few key parts of the monster to create them; a head, torso, arms, and legs. These different parts all need to be similar to create the best type of monster – which is showcased via their number. If they are all the same or close to the same in number, you will get a higher score.
Getting these parts, however, has you running around a massive map! You will need to dig up graves, but you will be leaving behind a body part in exchange for the one you take. You can also grab swap parts by sneaking them from other scientists’ homes and leaving ones you don’t want. Thankfully, you do start with some extra pieces to give you more options!
You will spend a great deal of time exploring as the map in Frankenstein’s Monster feels large and has several different secret pathways. Just be careful as you poke around for parts as the other scientists can also send out their previous monsters to hunt you down, stopping you and stunning you, which really wastes your time. Once this phase of the game is done, you can then put together your parts to create your monster before it’s rated against your peers. They will then determine the best monster.
Frankenstein’s Monster is currently in development.
