Whisper of the House gives the player the job of stepping into homes and helping their owners clean and sort the clutter in their lives.
You’re the town’s trusted cleaner and organizer, and the people in this place aim to keep you busy pretty much all the time. If someone new is moving to the town, someone is opening a shop, a mess gets out of hand, or a life gets out of order, you’re the one that people call in order to get this looking sharp and sorted. This means you’ll be stepping into all sorts of messes and messy lives over the course of the game, steadily getting to know the entire population from their belongings and their junk.

You’ll be stepping into many different living situations and buildings throughout your time with this game. While those places may be different, your abilities in those places are largely the same: cleaning and moving things around. Each townsperson might have a different mission for you in their home or shop, but you’ll largely be trying to find an organized way to put all of their items on shelves and throughout the house as you tidy up the chaos of these places. It will really take you some time to get all of these places looking neat, but it’s hard to deny that joyful flutter you get when you look at the job when it’s done.
Whisper of the House offers many shops and homes that you can bring back to a state of order and happiness through your efforts. And maybe you’ll even figure out some stories about the people within from the photographs, notes, and items you find yourself cleaning up. Although you might find out something about the town itself that you’ll wish you hadn’t.
Whisper of the House is available now on Steam.
