The Well’s Blessing sees you running into mysterious birds, solving sound-based puzzles, and having conversations between old friends.
This is a narrative driven adventure game where you are visiting your old home and seeing your childhood friends in a park that you all use to hang out in. However, things feel a little different now. Maybe it’s age. Or maybe it’s the strange birds that are flying overhead in a circle above a massive tree.

Besides figuring out what is up with the birds, the world around you is filled with different audio puzzles. These are blended so well into the areas you’re exploring that it’s almost hard to figure out they are puzzles and aren’t just quirks of the park. One such puzzle plays when you are near flowers, giving you a clue on what you need to do with the main ruins that have been left towards one end of the park. This starts you on a journey to figure out why the birds are there.
You aren’t alone in The Well’s Blessing as you have your friends with you. While I wandered around and hung out, they had little throwaway lines that didn’t feel like they were just triggered by hitting a specific point in the game, but instead more like casual bits of conversation that friends would have. This little detail makes the game feel almost warm. Like it’s a part of you.
The old well that you are visiting is a sanctuary that has been restored and opened again, but there are a bunch of superstitions about the park and lots of animals going there to see if the well can make their lives better somehow. I got the chance to play a bit of The Well’s Blessing at BIG Conference, where I very much enjoyed the characters that I was hanging out with and the subtle challenge of the audio-driven puzzles that felt extremely well made.
The Well’s Blessing is currently in development, but in the meantime, you can add it to your Steam Wishlist.
