A Crooked Heart follows Lulu as she chases after her beloved Orion, blasting any monstrous parasites and other goopy creatures that aim to stop her.
Seavus is a nasty parasite that has merged with the world’s food sources, giving it immense power. Somehow, that wasn’t enough, as it is also looking to infect and absorb other creatures. None are as useful to it as the corgi (somehow), so it’s set out to devour them all. It had initially only missed two remaining corgis, Lulu and Orion, and it managed to snatch Orion. When it did, it left a piece of itself within Lulu, but her love overcame Seavus’ powers and turned the small piece of the parasite into a helpful tool. Time to give Seavus a taste of its own power.
Now, you’ve got a corgi that can fire beams, essentially. Lulu can hop and flip around the environments, firing back at the minions that try to stop her. You’ll be platforming through all sorts of infected environments, blasting alien beings that are looking to finally capture the last free corgi. As you keep fighting toward your beloved, you’ve got to wonder what will happen when you finally take out Seavus. There’s a part of him inside you, after all. What happens to that piece when it dies, and what will happen to you when that thing dies inside you?
A Crooked Heart is a surprisingly deep, heartfelt game about a corgi that fires energy blasts. The game’s first episode is out now, so we’ll have to wait to see where this touching relationship goes in further episodes, though.
